Elever ved VG3 Musikk, dans og drama på Vågen videregående skole inviterer til musikalen SHREK THE MUSICAL, i samarbeid med VG3 Medier og kommunikasjon, Interiørdesign og eksponeringsdesign og Mediedesign. I skolens foajé kan publikum også oppleve en kunstutstilling skapt av VG3 Kunst, design og arkitektur, som gir forestillingen en helhetlig og stemningsfull ramme.
En grønn og motvillig helt blir kastet ut i et eventyr han aldri ba om, når sumpboeren Shrek må redde prinsesse Fiona for å få livet sitt tilbake. På veien møter han en ustoppelig eselvenn, en prinsesse med en uventet hemmelighet og et kongerike som helst vil at alt skal se perfekt ut på overflaten.
Musikalen løfter frem hvordan vi dømmer hverandre, og oss selv, etter fasader, og minner oss om at ekte styrke ligger i å være den man er, ikke den verden forventer. I en tid preget av kroppspress, polarisering og krav om å passe inn, treffer Shrek The Musical som en varm, humoristisk og relevant fortelling om mangfold, mot og tilhørighet. SHREK THE MUSICAL
Students from VG3 Music, Dance and Drama at Vågen Upper Secondary School proudly present SHREK THE MUSICAL, in collaboration with VG3 Media and Communication, Interior Design and Visual Merchandising, and Media Design. In the school foyer, audiences can also experience an art exhibition created by VG3 Art, Design and Architecture, providing a visual framework that enhances the performance and creates a rich and atmospheric experience.
A green and reluctant hero is thrust into an adventure he never asked for when the swamp-dwelling Shrek must rescue Princess Fiona in order to reclaim his life. Along the way, he encounters an unstoppable donkey companion, a princess with an unexpected secret, and a kingdom determined to keep everything looking perfect on the surface.
The musical highlights how we judge one another, and ourselves, based on appearances, reminding us that true strength lies in being who we are rather than who the world expects us to be. In a time marked by body-image pressures, polarization, and the demand to fit in, Shrek The Musical resonates as a warm, humorous, and highly relevant story about diversity, courage, and belonging.
