Social media cookies

Eventim uses social media plug-ins from Facebook. When a page, containing a social plug-in (or the ‘Like’ button), is accessed, the user’s browser connects to the Facebook servers, and the content required for the social plug-ins is downloaded. Facebook receives the web address of the page accessed by the user, the date and time of access, and the IP address of the user, if the user has enables the button “activate Social Media” previously. If the user is logged into Facebook, Facebook is able to relate the visit of that page to the user’s Facebook account. If the user clicks the ‘Like’ button on the page, the information is also transferred to Facebook and stored there. If the user of the site is not a member of Facebook, there is still a possibility that Facebook will identify and store the user’s IP address, if the user enables the button “activate Social Media”. Eventim has no influence on the content of the plug-ins or on the information transferred to Facebook. The purpose and scope of data collection, the further processing and use of the data by Facebook and the user’s rights and setting options to protect the user’s private sphere and personal data can be found in the Facebook privacy policy.
